HELP!! Converting S2 headlites to HID's....

Putting the HIDs in at lo-beam and they come on just fine but when I had regular H1 bulbs in there I use to be able to use the Lo-beam & Hi-Beam at the same time. Now the HID Lo-beam goes out when I switch to Hi-Beam(Silverstar bulb) and won't come back on until I switch down to parking lites and then up to Lo-beams. Is there something about HIDs that won't allow you too use the Hi-beam at the same time?
Martyn, it's the same kit you sell at VAG. I'm pretty good with Audi electric but this has me stumped. Just to see if the wiring was off, I put the H1 back in on the driver side and lo & behold the HI-beam & Lo-beam come on at the same time!
What gives?

That doesn't sound right - which bulbs are you replacing with the HID? Have you bought the same type of HID for that bulb type?

Example - I have the old H4 kit - the H4 HID stays on on dipped, and going to full-beam switches on the 2ndary H1s.

Oh they are the right ones for H1 lites. No doubt about that.
