Hi guys i have another problem with my car , there is a boost leek some where cant seem to find it and the car is always wanting to cut out when you come to a stop also it is poping and spluttering under the very little boost , i have no idea where to look and dont have a pressure test kit ,not that i would now how to use it, can anyone guied me in the right direction cheers johnny
I made a pressure kit for under £2, 2 weeks ago. and, im no pro. will gladly explain how if interested? With a few pipes blocked off i found my leak? That is, my car is not standard and has an extra pipe from the WGFV to airbox, which was the leak. Why the extra pipe? i have no idea.
I followed a link on this forum. To do, home made pressure testing kit. The thread showed a PVC tube with screw on top. A hole was made in the screw top to insert a inner tube valve. once all glued up and air tight.
Remove hose to MAF and replace with pressure kit. You will need to block up 2 hoses, which wasn't quite explained in the original thread, but has been if you search for my thread, about 2 weeks old. First hose to block is the hose from the intercooler to inlet, runs into a metal pipe that runs along the top of the engine, above the turbo. I used a spray can. The second is a crank case breather hose. Just below the first pipe you have blocked, a metal pipe from the side of the head, a small piece of rubber hose then another piece of metal hose into the the inlet hose to turbo. You will need to block up this rubber hose/pipe. This should have mostly sealed the system for you to start pressurizing. Use a bicycle pump to pressurize, i didn't exceed 1 bar.
I would suggest you remove the front bumper first as you will be able to check the intercooler and its piping. I all so did the markH mod at the same time. again find my thread it is shown in there, how this done.
Bumper mounting are behind the foglights and wheel arches
I went to B'n'Q to buy piping, but i could'nt find the one showed in thread, so this what i did.
I bought a drain pipe, piece of plastic without screw on top, approx 68mm across, really needs to be 75mm across, but i could find one, and about 20 cm long. It was white in colour, as i sit here i dont know the part No written on it. I then glued a spray can lid on to the drian pipe piece, drilled a hole in the can lid, cut a bicycle inner tube valve and glued it in.
I hope this helps? Sorry i can't post pictures. If you send me a PM of your mobile phone i can send you photos by picture phone. and or explain further from my ramblings.
