    ECU fault

    Hi all
hope you can help me with this one, posted a message previously about wgfv problems as it wasn't getting any power (or very little) but now i think i have a full blown ECU fault. I used the info in s2central.net to try to pull the blink codes off.

Was using the same LED everything but when i do it it seems that the LED is just getting a constnt 12v even when the ignition is off. And when i short the circuit for 4 or more seconds the LED still doesn't go out.

Can anyone help? really don't want to buy a new ecu, is there any tests i can do? Have a multi meter so can do all sorts..

    many thanks

    Taff

Also when i reset the ECU all seems to be ok for about 30 secs, its the blink codes (or lack of them) that i'm worried about, am taking to a Audi place with a vac-com (sp?) to check if the ecu has gone pop...

There is a fuse for the diagnostics - check if it is OK! It is Fuse 21.

... And rest assured, I doubt the ECU is faulty. If the fuse is ok, just take your car to an Audi dealer, most charge very little for a quick diagnostic if they're not very busy (my local dealer didn't charge me at all). That way, at least you can put your mind at rest.

I think you have wired the LED to the wrong pins. Possible?
