    Oil line fittings

I am gonna fit an oil cooler next week ready for the track event, but i cant find the adapters i need on the speedflow website.

Oil cooler has 1/2 BSP male ends and there are no male/female -10 JIC to 1/2 BSP adapters listed.

Anyone know of another company that might do them???

I cant find them on the Earls website either. Might have to send the cooler back and buy one with JIC connectors, but i wanted to get this done early in the week, so i dont have any last minute jobs to do

You could always go to a company such as www.pirtek.co.uk they can make you the pipes with fittings from scratch

You could try one of the following:
        Mocal (Thinkauto)
        Demon Tweeks
Skiffy (outside chance - useful site to know about though)

Had a quick look and not sure you'll have a lot of joy with male/female in the sizes you are after... male/male no problem. It might be easier to change the ends on the hoses to match the sizes you want... or to just make new hoses.

        NCT etc.

Best of luck! If that fails maybe some of the results from this Google search might be able to help as well.

i know someone who replaced the original oil line with one of there custom jobs and it cost £20, think audi price was over £100

are you still using a standard oil cooler?

I wont be Got a 235x13 row cooler to find a space for. Its not that big, but im limited for space. Will be more room once i make a decent inlet manifold, then i can fit a massive cooler in the aux rad position. Hopefully.

tom - call speedflow - they will source the adapters you need - I think it was thinkauto that had those in stock.

An uprated oil cooler is definitely worth while on our cars. At Bedford last year I was seeing oil temps up to 140C after 6 laps or so which is definitely NOT healthy. From what I understand, our oil coolers date from the Air Cooled Beetle...

Not only that Dan, but they are worth cleaning out too, i looked down that duct to my oil cooler last weekend and couldnt see it, i dug soooooooo much crap out, there were at least 8 or 9 feathers, loads of mud, dirt and dust in there.... also the bolt that holds that ducting on at the front had worked its way loose and fallen off and was mixed in with it all.

After cleaning it out as best i could by hand and then an air line etc the car was running cooler and cooling down faster once i started to drive sensibly again

I may well give that a go on Friday. Might pop the IC off too as I'm sure that's full of oil as well!

Ordered all my fittings today, Speedflow did make them, but they arent on the website!!! Doh. All in, the bits and pieces cost me a lot more than the cooler !!! 140 quid

But on the plus side they will look good and enable me to change to a larger cooler in the future.

Thanks to all for there help on this matter. Be it via PM or here.
