I can second that, my 91 (cast) has all them too..

Manifold isn’t the original, just to avoid confusion..

Not all 7A engines have the sodium valves. Only the earlier ones. Late ones are std.

Sodium is the way to go in turbo cars IMHO. On extreme applications they might be not the way as the sodium channel makes the valve weaker...

My friend replaced his AAN head with 7A head. He drilled few holes for the turbo water manifold and made a bracket for the hall sender. That's all. His version had the "extra" EM stud holes.

It was someone else that said you don't need the better water manifold for under 300bhp (I think). Larger headgaskets? As in thicker ones? or ones for the larger bores? I would just use a metal laminated one - and if you want it thicker you buy 2 and make a hybrid.

WabTheKing; the valves are toxic waste and should be treated as such.

                              You missed off a please

I'll take a pic of the 7A tomorrow but here is the ABY with manifold on. The 7A has the triangular shapped hole already. You need to drill a further 3 holes for the manifold and another 3 and get them tapped.

If you are using them in anything but a 3B you will need the cam hall sender mounts added as well.

Escort RS turbo's have sodium filled exhaust valves too, along with a couple of others in the ford range.

Looks like the 7A head could be a cheaper alternative to the S2 head then with a bit of work
