    Water Lines

Finally my car went to workshop to add the rebuild turbo, EM, WG, etc and some others mods like boost gauge, new dump, etc

What good/bad point can achieve without water lines on the Turbo??? In the workshop they advice to not use water lines on the turbo.

Ps. Thanks to Rafael, The Spanish (your turbo pass on in the test machine, they install the repair kit and sand clean it just to have almost new look)

If the turbo has water cooling, use it - it cools the turbo after the car has stopped.

Some turbos do not have water cooling.

Yes i know Doug, but it cools after and when the car is running (isn't it?)... some tuners told me that water lines make the turbos cool down to much (just some part of turbo) when the turbo is very hot, rise the water temp on long distances, etc... the unique bennefit they see is the Afterrun system (that i suspect just work some times)...
And if i buy another turbo (upgrade not OEM) it maybe have just the oil links, i will run it without water cooling, when that happens i need to switch the electric pump off?

Thats why i asked you if you agree with this solution, in the workshop they advice to not mount the water links!

        Thanks

Turbo's are designed specifically to run either with or without the water cooling by the manufacturer. If the turbo has water lines then it really should be water cooled.

The tuner may advise against but will they pay for the turbo if there is damage from overheating if you remove the water lines?

          Just my tupence.

Has anyone noticed this turbo water-feed pipe leaking on their car?
Noticed a few drops of coolant on the pipe the other day, must be from the rubber hose part. Going to order a new one.

I have been told of a similar symptom that was ultimately to do with the head gasket, but that was tested ok earlier in the year.

                After

Now i have the OEM turbo, maybe will do the same thing or make some changes on the turbo to make him more strong. That is a good way for some more hp
or its better buy a new turbo?
