... Cam cover is from Sport quattro, the DOHC 4V wording was not used on the 7A, although they are interchangeable. The oil filler location of the Sport and 7A are also different.Never show a fool a half built house.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

It looks like the injectors that are in the "cage" are getting fired from the cam powered "thingy" on the back of the head.
There must be 5 seperate throttle bodies in there somewhere as well. Is that what the mechanical rods are opening?S2,RS2,S4 WB,RS4,S4 B8,RS6 C5,RS6 C6,R8Comment

Its A mechanical Injection System with slide throttles
Looks like a Kugelfischer system
Similar to the Lucas system as used on DFV and BDA/BDX Cosworths but much easier to set up and less likely to take the hair off your Face
Dont need a squirty bottle of fuel to start them like you do with a lucas system
The Block on the back of the CAm is the Fuel distribiution block, driven by a keyway in the end of the cam normally
Its more like a diesel injection system than petrol, very high fuel pressure and valves in the metering head rather than injectors near the head.
Throttle slide gives full bore at WOT with no restriction, works like a Guillotine to close off the Inlet tract, terrible running off idle and the fuel puddles on top of the plate, but go like Fook at the top end
We used to run Group 6 Prototypes with BDA`s and BMW M12 motors on Slide throttle mechanical set ups, 2 litres and 320hp Normally aspirated
.... lovely cars would give the Can Am McLarens a run for their money on a twisty track too
Proper motor that........ I can smell the Avgas and Castrol R from here

I too was gonna say that the FI unit looks like a Kugelfischer one...
I wonder if that engine has ever ran...
The cam cover is an SQ unit, defo, but the rest of the engine looks 7A-ish to me...
