i realize it's blasphemy, but it you want a stonkin V10, grab a viper motor and toss a coupla turbos at it. you'll get your 1000hp quite easily
if only i had an ulimited budget and knew how to weld
:mischeif:
btw, having had to lift both a bare 7A block and vr6 block, i can say that the vr block weighs significantly more than the 7A. I was able to walk down my drive with the 7A block but could only half drag the vr block into the corner of my garage.1993 UrS4...aka the rocket powered living roomComment

well thats kinda the whole point of this project out of the window then!!!!
my idea was an engine that was the same weight or less that would sit further back,
rad in the boot to even out the weight distribution
350bhp with 570NM ish would have been ample with NO LAG!
back to the old drawing board!!!!!!!!!

VR is good 'ol iron. while it is certainly heavier, it's also alot shorter....maybe your center of mass would move back usefully, i don't know. it WOULD be one killer setup if you did it though.
i wonder if it would bolt up to the trans or if a custom bellhousing would have to be made. seeing as i have a VR block and now a 90 20v parts car in my posession, i could give the definitive answer in a few weeks, after i've transplanted the engine into my coupe and got the darn thing turning over....Last edited by ottawa coupe; 23 August 2005, 12:40.1993 UrS4...aka the rocket powered living roomComment
