    fuel pump for 400 - 450 hp

    Hi all,

does someone know what kind of fuel pump i will need for above mentioned hp output. I was thinking of a bosch 040 or a 044 pump. Will the bosch 040 pump be strong enough to support 450 hp?

    thanks

The bosch 044 pump should do the job. A few people on here have this pump fitted and are doing 400-500+ bhp. Anyone know the limit of the 044 pump??

    Cheers,

The 928gts fuel pump can be had at lindseyracing.com for ~170 bucks US. A few people across the pond are having good luck with this pump running 400-500hp.

          Thanks for the replies,

I know that most people use the 044 pump i believe this one flow 355 l/h but this one is pretty expensive. I was curious if the 040 pump would also do the job, I believe this one flow 235 l/h. And is used as an replacement for the rs2 pump.

I'm sure with the right injectors and FPR it will be fine. Javad was at over 500hp with a stock 80 quattro fuel pump.

Does someone know how this can be calculated?

Or is as easy as bellow
-rs2 injectors = 440 cc an minute, is 26,4 litr an hour. So for 5 it will be around 132 litr an hour. The 040 pump will flow 235 litre max.

ist not really ontopic but is it wise to get a new MAF, I can buy a rs2 (is this one better then the s2 one)item for 100 euro and a Sport quattro for around 300 euro. I know that people are driving with over 400 hp and still use the same maf, but how long will it stay?

Erik, keep your stock MAF or get the RS2 one if it's that cheap, don't bother with the SQ one, it makes mapping a proper PITA, especially on a 3B.... Just run a stock sized MAF on the pressure side and you'll be fine, Jeffer has been running his at 5xx HP like this for a few months now and still no signs of failure....

What is the benefit of it being on the pressure side?

                      Thanks - Darren.

I cant really tell you that, i know there was a topic about this matter. But I believe they where not really convinced this was a better way to safe the maf. I believe s2centrale had some sleepless nights about this matter.

The only reason I can think of it will be better for the engine if you place the maf as close as possible to the IM.

The benefit of the MAF being ob the pressure side; the wire doesn't get ripped out.
Doug spotted it last time on my car when it was on the rollers. when lifting of the throttle @ high RPM's there comes a HUGE amount of air out of the inlet from the turbo. And i mean a huge amount. If the maf is sitting there (like OEM) then it tears the wire out. When the maf is between the turbo and Throttle body that problem is not there. For that mod you NEED to get to mihnea. He's the only one I know of that performs this trick on the S2's.
