Is it possible to mate a K26 and a K24 (Stock s2 turbo)together so you retain the oil/water cooling/hotside of the K24 with the larger cold side of a K26? Just wondered if its possible and what if any positives/negatives there would be....I guess the k26 cold side would come from maybe a URQ for ease of availability and price.

what k26 has bigger cold side than stock s2 k24?
C / H mm
s2 k24 = 43/??
10v k26 = 42/56
if my memory is correct.
I have mated watercooled k26 with rs2-k24 cold side to get 48/56, it's allllmoust rs2 but little more room at the hotside, making it last bit longer. -
ah ok, thought there was a difference, not well up on my turbo knowledge apart from the fact that I do know I cannot afford an Rs2 unit

there is very fine units from porsche or similar, but used turbo + modifcations + parts + balancing = usually more or same money as new unit. If money is reason for searching different configurations, the rule "poor can not afford cheap" apply (hope this finnish saying means something after translation)Comment

yeah was just balancing up the cost of refurbing my original unit which has done 169,000miles and now has a little shaft play versus the cost of 'cobbling' a hybrid together - think the answer is refurb and save
Kiitos paljon!
