    HIGH TEMP BOOST PRESSURE/rollin road

Went to Power eng rolling road on Wed 31/8/05 at 1330 hours.
Outside temp 34 deg. Inside building 40. deg
On a power run it was holding boost upto 25psi to 5000 rpm
but above that it would drop down to 17 psi at 6000 rpm.
    They susspected Wasdtegate spring ???
Any suggestion would be appreciated before i start tightening it
The Shark Koll Cimins suggested droping of the car with them
to their Air conditioned rolling road centre.

Boost profile sounds about right for upto 380bhp ish. Have you got a plot of the power, torque, boost and inlet temps? If it was low on power it could have started pinging and pulled back - especially with high ambient temps. Did they have both of their big fans aimed at the IC?

Why did they suspect the wastegate spring?

No pinging, power cut back ALOT but for 40 deg outside temp happy with output,
lambda pretty good just above 1.1 all the way to 7000 rpm
but running abit rich on slight throttle. (typical of MTM chips to run slightly rich)

power enginnering tend to specify more on Ford, Scubbys and Mitsu's. without
      external waste gate

PS: two tiny fans. Should i complain ???

If you don't know what the inlet temps were you cannot really complain. But I would expect the temperature thing has had a big effect - but then again, it depends on what fudge factors they use in their software to compensate for temperature. Do they have a correction value for temperature in any of the plots?
