    Oil residue in intake pipes

I've noticed that there is a fair amount of oil building up on the inside surfaces of my Samco's and for that matter probably everywhere else. I know that a certain amount oil residue build up is inevatable, but when does it become too much and when should I worry?

I suspect that my turbo may be the culprit, but I am not totally sure.

This picture is the inside of the intercooler to plastic pipe samco hose, it was clean 7 months ago. The oil residue is very thick, sticky and black and seems to be throught the whole system.

Its quite nornal Angus, i have quite a bit more than that. Its mainly from the breather system which dumps the vapours back into the inlet tract.

I agree, but then all that muck can end up distributed around the engine bay.

          Just ask Doug.

i found the reason I am getting it pucking out of the catch tank is a blocked filter - it blocks, must build pressure until it blows out over everything - I have to clean the filter more often now.

Yep I did the same I launched the filter because it blocked too quickly and just vented to atmo, although I still get the stink of crankcase gases. I will eventually get around to routing it to the DP like 'Bigtoe' described in this thread: http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=878

........nearly two years since that post and I still haven't done it.
