    Need help from the experienced!

    Hi everybody!

Greetings from Arizona! It's been a hot summer, but things are finally starting to cool down to a reasonable temperature. That means I need to finish up on the E-S2 I am building for a friend. I have the '95 AAN bolted up to the '91 Coupe Quattro, but that's it.

We are using the stock Motronic management from the AAN, but there's a problem. The wiring is anything but "plug and play". The CQ uses square connectors with flat terminals, while the harness from the S6 uses "kostal" plugs (square plugs with round connectors).

I am in desperate need of assistance to get this system wired into the Coupe Quattro - by my estimate, there are at least 30 wires that need to get wired in that I have no clue where they go or where they plug in to. I still have the original CQ 7A harness, if necessary, I can cut and splice the old connectors to the new harness to plug into the car, but I need to know what goes where. If necessary, I can take pictures of the connectors in question to further clarify.

This is very important to me. The quicker it gets done the quicker it goes further with it's planned development and the faster it becomes drivable.

If anyone has any experience adding a late AAN to a typ89 coupe, please let me know!

    Thanks guys!!!

I've done AAN to a typ85 coupeQ. For some personal reasons I wanted to keep my CQ wiring loom uncut (maybe I'll do rollback to KV, who knows ). So I bought about ten of connectors from C4 and Typ85 from scrapyard and made "bridge" between AAN and CQ wiring loom. It works. Both looms are in original condition. Also made +12v and ground terminals "from scratch", however I think you can reuse CQ ones.

Some info you can find in:

Note that page does not exist anymore, so if you find it helpfull, download it to local machine.

We are doing a swap now. I've seen you post over on AudiWorld.
At any rate, we are using the AAN harness and AAN motronic ECU. If you do it like this, then you only need to splice in 6 wires to the cars existing wiring harness (ie. tachometer and oil pressure, etc). Everything else from the AAN harness will bolt right into the AAN engine sensors. Good luck!!

kwlw, thanks for the link, I saved the html file to my pc, but the two .xls files with the wiring and connector info seem to be missing. Do you or anyone out there happen to have those two files or the info from them? With out it I'm still stuck!

NoNonsense, I installed the engine with the wiring harness attached, so I don't have to worry too much about the engine or sensors. You say there are only six wires to splice in, but there are about 6 "koastal" connectors with anywhere from 4 to 6 wires each on the AAN wiring harness that just don't plug into anything on the CQ. I have the Bentley for the CQ and online access to the Bentley for the UrS4 and S6, but all I can glean from them is a massive headache.

I need to figure out how to either make a plug and play bridge harness like kwlw did, or figure out the individual wires to splice into (last resort). Anybody have any specifics?
