    Cold Starting Problem

when i start the car from cold it's a right pain

so was wondering if any one had any idea's

when first starting it fire's up but sound's like it's starved of fuel

if you try to rev it,it just stall's

after a couple of minutes it's fine and run's fine even leaving it for a few hours

just seems to be doing it in the morning.

    advice needed

    thanks

    What engine do have?

And when did you have the last service?

Is there a Lamda sensor on your model?

Sounds like the car is trying to start with out choke,if the Lamda is Faulty it will give you same sort of problem

It only takes a couple of minutes, and is usually a good start.

Usual suspect is the 4 pin temp. sensor. Make sure the boot that covers the plug isn't full of water, causing a short.

MTFS does not affect cold start in any way.

Engine management temp sensor on the rear end of the cyl head. Could be it.

G62 is my top suspect too. I still think codes would be a good start. 2312?

Might be faulty without a code. It may just give wrong resistance compared to the temp and therefore ECU thinks the engine is hot and not cold and does not activate the cold engine enrichment.

True. Although I've had two go (on different cars), and both times they have shown up as a fault code. IIRC they're only about £10 anyway.
