thx rotory boy..... but u havent got any pics? still not 100% where these are... theres two radiators
and tank cap???? the lid to the coolant?.... isnt a bleed point
also must u run the engine while bleeding?
i know these sound a bit lame but i gotta know 100%
Basically, fill the res. tank as normal and open the valves at position 2 and 3. Start the car and leave to run upto temp then turn on the heater to full/hot. Keep topping up the water to the right level(max) and wait for the air to disperse from the top of the rad. (water flow will be constant). Close this and do the same thing for the heater hose at the rear of the engine compartment. Check the heaters are hot, then bobs your uncle. People have different ways of doing it this is just one way
You must use G11, G12 or G12plus can be bought from GSF for tupence.
Go for G12plus as G11 and G12 cant be mixed together where as G12plus can be mixed with either.
Please note this as my main dealer did this on the S2 with the result that the coolant was full of deposits until cleaned out.
Main dealer even denied it was an issue suggesting my radiator was rusting until I got a specialist second opinion and insisted they sort it !
As has been said, its best to set the heater controls to 'hot' before doing anything else. Its then easier to drain, flush and bleed the system fully.
Also, get hold of some 'de-ionised' water if possible (Halfords etc). You can get 5 litres of it for only a few quid and use that to mix your G12+ with on the final fill.
