Low/Late Boost

Drove my car this morning and it was very flat!!
Was only making 0.5bar boost at 4000RPM. When excelerating hard in 4th gear, the car made 1bar boost at about 5000RPM then instantly droped below 0.5bar...
I have checked all hoses and also turbo for any play. Everything looks fine, even the comp wheel is good.
Can anyone help me with this problem??

HI JP,

This is a common problem on the S, there can be all too many faults that can cause this problem. Do a search on say "low boost" or "lack of boost" or "boost leak" on this forum and you'll find a ton of info on what to check out.

9/10 times the fault is simple, you just have to find it. Do the search, try out some of the ideas and I'm sure you'll find the problem. Any specific problem you come up against, post again here.

Hi Martyn,

Stripped the turbo and all of the impellers on the comp wheel are worn. The guys told me its because I dont have a DV fitted to the car. Have just bought a new comp wheel and bearing kit. will fit it later this week and also add a DV to the car.
Will let you know what happens!!
