Not sure where you are from, but Jyrki at Repo in Finland mentioned to me that Holset do a very good turbo for S2 with very little lag. He knows this as he has seen one on one of his Exhaust manifolds working.
Contact him for more information at repo@pro-mo.info
Cheers

Well we have here the Holset dealer her in LT, but company is company, they of course will vaunt them products, but I wanna to hear any expierences from somebody who use that turbo on s2. I have order the rs2 em and now I'm looking for good turbo on my project car with small turbo lag and i want around 400bhp. I'm thinking about kkk26/27 or k26/GT3071, or holset ( i dont know yet the model name, but is close to rs spec). That company told me, that the 'garet' turbos arent good, but in this forum I found many happy mates with that turbos..
Mine own 'minuses' for that holset turbo, that is without water cooling. Yes, if u care about your engine (use good oil, not switch off the engine for few min after run and etc), but I still want with water cooling. So at the moment I'm a bit confused.

I have holset on my 3b engine, but your question is too general, holset have some big turbos and some bigger turbos and they are orginally made for diesel engine use and usually off-the-shelf items are no good for bensin cars, the hx40 series is the simplest and most used here Finland but there is still the matter of choosing right housing etc.
Mixing different series and parts will make good for any use but you have to know what you are doing.

Yes, it wont be 'of the shelf', as they say, they would do from a diferent parts of holset turbos, to suite mine wishes. We have here few T5 cars with that turbos, but, u know, in our country is a lot entusiasts who dont think about reability, about long last engines, about turbo lag and etc, they just are getting cheepest parts from scrap yards and drive like crazy with 's' sticers on the shity cars.( I'm not talking about everyone, we have here briliant profesionals as well ), but most peoples still dont understand, that good, road worth cars isn't cheep toys and every hp cost money. So I'd like to hear opinion from 'old europe' about Holset turbos or hackneyed question: what turbo would be the best for rs spec aan engine (~400bhp) to drive on the roads, not drag races
