experiencing a wierd boost problem. Car boosts fine under most circumstances and I get full boost by 3000 rpm. However, if I am hammering through the gears and change at the red line then when I re-apply the throttle then I only get 6 psi (limp home?) boost for a couple of seconds and then the boost picks up again. If I back off and then immediately reapply then there is full boost immediately.
This problem has been consistent for about a week now.
Any ideas?

It is a new one but worth trying another anyway. I will try the S3 one off of my other car.

In my case it was a poor wiring in the knock sensor to ecu connector.
That's interesting because I actually had a knock sensor replaced last week because it had failed. Maybe that the connection is poor.

There are two Knock sensors, one with a green and one with a blue connector. They are mounted on a rightangle bracket that hangs off the firewall behind and just below the throttle body alongside two of the four coil pack connectors. The other two coilpack connectors are located above, one is brown and the other is black (?).
You just need to pull back the rubber boot of each of the connectors (male and female, 4 in total) to expose the wiring.
i'm experiencing the same problem, the only thing is, that it happens ONLY with one chip-set only. We tryed my ECU with other cars, they run well. ECU test shows no error codes. My car is Audi 200 3B with RS2 parts.

so, if you run your car with another car's chipset you don't get this problem?

i have this problem, but mine constantly runs at 6/7psi after, think my knock sensor cuts in because it sounds like its pinking while on full boost before it cuts it out! anyone got anyideas why? cant get vagcom to work nor the led so i cant find out fault codes!
cheers
steve
I tryed 3 different chip's with my ECU. The problem is only with 1 chipset. But my ECU with the "problematic" chipset runs very well with other cars.
No fuel cut's, no error messages, no smoke
Wierd!!!
My problem persists, despite trying everything...........
