symptoms of an oil pump failure?

    Hey guys,
a little update on my oil issues.
As you know,i had a bad oil pressure indication, showing me that i had 1bar of pressure at idle when car is hot.

i changed my head gasket (top)from where i had a conciderable leak, changed my oil filter to the original one,and changed to castrol RS 10W60.

Now,on idle the gauge shows 1.3bar,and on acceleration it reaches 5 bar,no problem.

Shouldnt it be 2bar at idle?

I have no oil leaks now,and no oil consumption whatsoever!!!Car runs perfect and have no indication of any other oil problems.

    So i was wondering...could this be a faulty oil pump?(i have 132.000kms)
or could it just be the oil pressure sensor gone bad?

    what do you think?

    cheers

What temperature is the oil at when it shows 1.3 bar?
I would change the pressure sensor before the pump.
When you say head gasket, do you mean rocker cover gasket?

          something I should check.

I need a benchmark to follow, what should the pressure be at roughly what temp ?

Pressure should be 1.8 to 2 bar at idle with engine at running temps. Some oils will produce lower pressure at idle due to their viscosity, so don't be too concerned if you're only seeing 1.5 bar at idle. Low oil level will also produce low pressure at idle, but it has to be pretty low. You'll know if it's really low because you'll loose oil pressure when travelling round left hand bends...

dont worry about low pressure at idle worry if its low at traveling speed

ok thanks you guys...i mean this was starting to get me a little confused...
i have no problem when revving,my gauge shows 4.5 to 5 when revving hard.
at idle it is 1.3 bar

however when the temperature is at excactly 90 it is close to 2(around 1.8 1.9 bar)while my thermostat and ventilator kicks in when temperature goes 2 lines above 90.Do you think that if a get a thermostat that works on 90 degrees that wil also cure the oil pressure indication?..or is this just an oil pressure sensor problem?
                  cheers
