    0.5bar boost S2 '94. ideas please.

Well to follow on from my last couple of posts.
This 94 S2 of my friends is still misfiring on HARD acceleration.

So far we have been working on the pipework, we've just recieved new parts today and it is all now airtight again.
We have done the fuel filter. Tested the fuel pump pressure.
    new air filter.
Reinforced the intake pipework to stop it collapsing.
Tested the leads with Multimeter, new plugs(all look Good colouration etc)
Tested the coil packs by removing the injectors one at a time, and each one was the same, so I am guessing it is not cylinder specific and the coil packs are probably ok(although they do look aged.. only a shame they are so expensive!!)
Tested for fault codes.. nothing stored and no ECU light coming on.

Today we setup the boost gauge on the ECU feed.. took the car for a spin and it is running 0.5bar boost.. on a longish high gear run the most i saw was possibly 0.6bar.

There is no overboost at all, it goes up to 0.5 smootly and holds there and misfires.

On another thread i was told 1.1-1.2bar maximum.. so this sounds far too low and I am thinking possibly Lambda cut due to running lean, or Knock sensor retardation, but I have no idea how to check those or indeed what to look at next? we have given up and booked the car in to a different garage with a RR to see what they can find, but thats not till monday.

You need to pull the fault codes and find out what is going on. There is a section on S2central.net which will tell you how....

Hi, The ECU light is not on, And Audi origionally tested for codes but found nothing.
I did find the how2.. is it still worth re-checking? surely Audi would have found them or the car would be blinking away saying there is a fault? its been complaining about the headlight for ages i think which we replaced today, shame it didnt notice the engine is broke
