We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
You are of course will put together a step by step how it was done, correct? You say it would be cheaper to do than a 20Vt installation? I would think the wiring would be a sheer nightmare Ben? Is the mounts you fabbed for the engine mounts on motorgeek?
Yes the mounts are shown in that link I posted. My roomate and a buddy in town are building the B4/ABH version so I should have those mounts sorted soon. I'm using VEMS engine control which just bypasses most of the wiring BS that one would run into. My only limitation was that the VEMS firmware was not even finished being written when I wanted to start the car first, so I had to put it off a few months.
Right now it's running coil-on-plug ignition with one wasted spark cycle -aka dual-fire- until I make a cam trigger that will work with the VEMS code. Audi has a really weird cam trigger on the ABZ. Other than that, I just mounted a 60-2 trigger wheel on the main pulley and a stock VR sensor to the oil pan flange. Works great until I get a bunch of dirt jammed in there =p
