044 fuel pump

Hey guys i need help in clarifying something.
I am in process of buying a Bosch 044 fuel pump, but i am not sure if this pump can be mounted inside the gas tank. The way i see it, it seem that this pump is designed to be mounter externaly. I understand that it is not direct replacement, but i just dont know if it can be used as in tank pump.
If anybody knows answer i will greatly appreciate it.

My 044 Fuel Pump is in the tank as is most of the other that have been fitted on the forum.

It can be fitted internally or externally, just use all the bits listed elsewhere on the forum to mount it in the tank, and you will be fine. Mine has been in the tank since 2003 and no explosions yet
