Hall Sensor - 034905161 (A)

Hello freaks,

So... I´m still with problem on the crank-position sensor...
It´s locate as the other post, near of the cluntch, and the motor flywheel.
But there are two sensors...

one is the 034.905.161, and the other is 034.905.161 A, so.... what are them???

I hope one is the rotation sensor, and the other the crank position sensor...
Any idea???

The one is Engine speed sensor and the other one crankshaft position sensor!

Check the crank pulley gear, I got the same problem a year ago, it wasnt the hall sensor, it was the nasty gear that conect the distribution belt...

Check using the points in both sides of the crank (the flywheel point vs crank gear in the front)

!!!!! CHECK that!

Im talking about the Crank pulley, not the camshaft pulley!

The guide of that gear was crack, so i loose the reference of the hall sensor, then the ECU dont understand why it recieve differences from the hall sensor and the crank sensor.........

I don´t think so!!!
What happends is:

Sometimes the motor start.... and sometimes not!!!
I had problems with the connector, the black one on the front of the motor, near the fuel injectors.
Than, I had fixed the connectors.. and the car have worked OK...
But... another day, my father went out with the car... and he told me that the car was a little bit difficult to start the motor... Just on the fivetime that he tried it have turned on!!!

Than... He cames to the garage... than the S2.. is there... and no more times it has turned on!!!
I saw all the wires, and the connectors, and all are OK.
And on the Blinkcode cames 2113... so... I really think that is the sensor... and not de pulley!

What do you think?

I could not start the engine because of a faulty Hallsensor (the sensor on aby and ADU engines that sits under the camshaft gearpulley!

what I think is the "Geber für Züundzeitpunkt G40", the part nummer is 034.905.161A...
But I did not understand the other picture, what is that??? (Zahnriemen???)

it doent cost anything to check my opinion, really, i waste the money in the damn sensor, and it was OK !

just compare the marks between the flywheel and the camshaft mark, its easy, inexpensive! , just in case!

Zahnriemen is the Timing belt! He shows the Camshaft poisition Hallsender that sits on th e camshaft pulley!

maybe somebody knows who is making or somebody sells this bracket/boss to run an 034905161 Cam Positioning Sensor on a 7A head ?
