    MAF info please....?

    Hello every1,
a little while ago i had bought a MAF sensor from ebay along with an ISV from a really helpfull fellow(german). He said his parts where from a 200 20V and where identical to RS2 spec.Thats ok for the ISV but it turns out not for the MAF.
    So this one i got reads:034 133 471 K while the one on the RS2 reads:034 133 471 N

Question isoes any1 know their differences? Can the replacement that i got work well with the ADU engine? Is it better? Is it worse?

Im not very familiar with what these things do to torgue and mixture excactly so i cannot understand their differences and why when someone tries a project for his car changes the MAF to a better one.

    cheers

034 133 471 K is the MAF used on S2 engines. Also used on 3B, RR and AAN engines.

ok.so it is a drawback to use it on ADU?

        Hi!
I believe the mafs put out different signals. Think that if you use a std maf with RS2 software/3 bar map in std ecu you have to also change a resistor. This is because it would run lean otherwise. So I would guess if you ran the std maf on an ADU, the same would happen.
Let's hope one of the experts can confirm this!

          ok!
in case this MAF does not do any good in my engine i guess it is up for a selling offer or an exhange offer for an ADU/RS2 maf!

          thanks

            Hi!
I have just read on some other forums that electrically they are the same! If thats the case then you could use it! Seems the difference is largely due to optimisation at the ADU's power level.
Wait and get a definitive answer.
It does pose one question. Why are there two different parts if they both perform the same function? We know the screen are different but if you look down both, you can see that the hot wire tube has a different construction.

also the s2 MAF has a screw next to the plug whereas the RS2 MAF does not.Anyone knows what is that there for?I havent actually taken out my RS2 maf so i cannot tell the differences from the other one but if you say so,they are there.
My rs2 is also chipped, but uses the stock maf,so if the 2 parts are the same in electrical signalling, then yes,it can be used.Other than that...i dont know.

The 3B and ABY maf are the same as the ADU! The difference is on the Screens they have! the 3B has this metall matrix with smaller holes and the ADU a plastic matrix with bigger ones! You can use it as a spare! You can use it also without the screens!
