    s2 n75's

alot of the seat gang are using diffrent wgfv's on our 1.8 t engines as they are told to be better . i have tryed toms but seems no diffrent . have you lot ever heard of the diffrent types ? j , v etc etc ? also why would they be better as i thought the ecu controlled boost

people say diffrent ones hold boost better or peak higher .

Its a bodge up way of running higher boost.

Far better getting car chipped properly, personally think its on a par with tightening the WG spring up.

      Gill,

methinks the Seat guys are having the 034 906 283J N75 valves, judging by the number of those we've shipped out recently!! it's the 3B WGFV.

I know someone with a modded S3 who occasionally uses the N75 and depending on the weather it puts the car into overboost proetection - it's a bodge. Don't bother.

He uses it if the weather is either hot or cold(can't remember which) all it is doing is giving a bit more boost upto the limit of the maps - in his case over the limits depending on weather.

on hot days my car goes into "safe mode" i.e no more then 5 psi . this is getting somewhere but what effect would it have disconecting it ?

could you find out how he does it i.e power disconect or blocking up pipes ?

He puts the standard one back in if it is overboosting.

Get it done properly and get a custom map by Mihnea.

the ecu in my car will be going soon along with the turbo , and a big phat one is on it's way . but just trying to minimize safe mode moments as i think i might get plagued with them ? touch wood a s3 ecu will sort it out .

Stop posting as that picture of our girlfriends is getting everywhere! When can i have a go?

anyways m8, that valve is needed for the ECU to control the boost pressure. With out it, it will boost no matter what happens, say you have a boost leak (not uncommon is it m8?) the turbo will keep spinning faster and faster as the ECU cant stop it from doing so. This will make that nice new turbo go bang. Im not fitting two!

@Martyn that 2nd one is in the post back tomorrow, sorry its taken me so long. Or if you are coming to the RR day and dont need it till then i can bring it with me? Txt me.

You wont need the S2 one once the re-mapping is done. You wait till you see the master at work with his kit on the S2, its the ********!

Do you mean you'll have an S3 ECU fitted in place of your original one with the big turbo and so on? What's the benefit if I may ask? your original ECU can be remapped to take care of all possible mods AFAIK...

Im not understanding this one either Mihnea? I thought that the ECU can be adjusted for any mods? Dunno, im no chip expert. The ECU even has a seperate MAP sensor so thats not the problem. Its the 5 psi boost error that keeps coming up now and then, no faults logged with it

                          AMD mapped

Oh and BTW, those girls REALLY are our girlfriends this weekend!!:nana:

ecu change is coz the ibiza one is pants don't know why but it can put you into safe mode when running high boost for a long period of time . people thought it was the charge temp , but with my new intercooler i get temps of 20-25 degrees at full chat , and i still get it sometimes ! very strange as no other 1.8t engine has this problem leon/golf/a3 etc etc .also you can't run atmos dv's on ibiza ecus when chipped .
