    ECU fuse...

    Hello everyone,
just had a talk with Billman, and he got me thinking that maybe my ECU-engine not being able to be read could have something to do with a fuse being blown or something. So i went to S2 central and checked which is which, and what is what and i came up with this:

Fuse S21 is the one that serves the Diagnostic. My fuse on the main fuse box is OK.
However this fuse is supposed to serve the relay S21 which is situated according to the schematics, under the left rear seat.Apparently my Rs2 avant does not have any relay situated there and actually i cannot find the last 4 relays anywhere on the car!!!(counting from 19,20,21,22 auxilliary relays that are supposed to be situated below the left rear seat, are not there!!!)

The thing is that from all the pictures i have ever seen about RS2,S2 etc,i have never seen any car having relays under there. So can anyone tell me where these actually are situated?it could be a damn relay burnt and all these years the previous owner could not have thought about it,and me either!!!

    cheers

In other words what could be the problem and he cant read the ECU diagnosis, either with Vagcom or other programs!
    Go Holset or Go RS4

The only relays under the rear seat are for rear wiper on Coupes (position 21) and the towing bracket relay for disabling the rear fog light in position 19.

so in this page here on S2 central, the S21 fuse that it says means only the fuse found on the main relay in the engine compartment?

i think you are right.Looking through ETKA did not reveal that there is a relay there that actually has anything to do with the diagnostic. However if the S21 fuse is the only one associated with the diagnostic plug(black),and this is OK in mine, then i guess i should concider that the problem could still be on the motorcable.

Another question the just came into mind is this:If a car doesnt have factory immobiliser, but still possess the relay for it which is conected properly, can this have anything to do with the diagnostic? Is there any known connection from the ECU between these 2 systems?

im one step closer in buying a motor cable from Tots,so this is why all these questions have come up again!
          cheers
