    Bleeding the System HELP Please

Hi, after the efforts of trying to fix the front rad, water still dripping out.
So its a bypass thing to get me back on the road.
But ive searched on bleeding the water system, and am confused.
It mentions the bleed screw on the aux rad, but with it being bypassed
what else is there to do.

    Cheers
    Tina

A good tip while filling the system is to loosen the bleed screw and before filling undue the expansion tank from it's mountings and have an assistant raise it above the bleed screw, then fill it with the coolant and you end up with an air free system.

Bleed screw is on top of the main rad, not the aux rad.
      Be carefull with it.
Set your heater to full blast and hot.
There is also a bleed screw on the heater hose that goes through into the cabin on the bulkhead, again be carefull with it.

no Tina, there is a bleed srew at the top of the Main red and one of the pipes that goes into the cabin for the heater matrix

            Start car
            leave cap off
            heater on full
            open bleed points
            run upto temp
wait till air starts to dissipate then close bleed points one at a time

Tina when you say you've "bypassed" the aux rad, how have you done that - just double checking that you've plugged the two hoses completely, you haven't joined them up together?

If you join them the hot coolant just loops in the system without being cooled.
Plug them so that you force all of the coolant through the main radiator, so it gets cooled.

It is a problem - basically you've just bypassed the entire radiator loop completely so the hot coolant never runs through the main radiator - plug them!
