leman's quattro=v10... What's the odds the 5 cylinder head will work?

I figured this would be a good topic.


The lemans quattro which is being made is a v10. When audi first made the v8 they basically took two 1.8L 16v motors and had them share a crank shaft.

What's the odds:

That this head is a 25 vavle?
That it will work for our application?

I have a funny feeling thought it will be chain driven from the rear like the new v8s.

I know siena/vagsport is building a 25v but just looking into all interesting options.

Interesting. When is the LeMans coming out...soon right? How long before someone crashes one and a scrap head becomes available? Production heads are mega bucks brand new so I wonder how much the Le Mans head would cost anyway? The engine is basically from the Lambo Gallardo and I was told about 15 months ago that it will be the engine used in the next S6 too so it might become a more extensively used unit. Does this share anything with the Toureg V10 too? I suspect it does. Afterall the Dodge Viper V10 was originally a diesel unit fitted to a truck which had some significant alterations but probably still shared the block.

Are the heads on the V10 Le Mans handed for left and right? I would have thought so. Oil/water galleries, head bolts, cylinder pitch are the main things to match between the V10 and I5. If all that works that would be mental!!

I think the head from the V10 TDI is a 4 valve head (20v)
