    RS2 problems

Just had my RS2 turbo reconed by ATE, after I blew it up at Castle Coombe.
All was good for the first 350 miles but now at low rpm the unit is very
Chattery & at 3000 to 3700 rpm in every gear they is a low pitched noise/vibration
(sounds like blowing over an empty bottle) & with a constant whine,
Sound like I’m being followed buy an ambulance??
The performance has dropped off, plus I’m getting a pulsing boost?
Do I have boost leak? Or a knackered turbo?
I spoke to ATE, they said check the end float on turbo shaft which I did &
    I could not detect any
    Any ideas

      Boost leak or broken DV?
What caused the turbo to die in the first place?

Paul, was yours the Blue RS2 that blew the oil breather pipe off in one of the earlier sessions?

as mentioned above sounds like a dv problem.

It is unlikely but it might be worth checking to see if the DV has been fitted the correct way round. And for the cost of a new DV (£20 -ish. IIRC you can use one from a S3) it may be worth changing it just in case.

see here for a previously posted pics:

Your next stop would be to do a pressure test. If ever you are in west/central London I could help you with this.

If changing the diverter round the other way transforms the car (on boost) there is probably a boost leak somewhere.
