leif b;s audi 80 with audi 2,0 engine.4syl,camlift over 12mm,custom cams and lifter
holset hx 40-57mm in and 63 out hot side. full boost ~ 3200 and 16 # hotside .
2bar with 7500-9000 and only 1,7 bar backpressure in the EM......really quick little car.
Doesnt all the HX40 have the Map Width Enhancement groove?
Just out of curiosity how much must the clearnce be between the Turbine housing and the Turbine wheel? How much shaftplay is good for an almost new turbo without oil?
What of hose fitting should i use here ??
This is the intake of mine
This is the Compressor outlet
This is the other one he sold! Is has a small bump on the outer ring witch something easy repairable! A Friend wants it for a smaller displacement Drag car! I told him it is going to be very big and now he is considering about fitting it!
Here the other type of inlet
Do you think the one type of intake is better than the other??
Dont take care the 2.3 i took it only because it fitted in the map!
The problem i see is that at 7500 RPM you can not get over 1,2 bar according to the Compressor map i have found because it goes out of it. Maybe i do something wrong...

Dont know....
first with stroker there is no point to have 7500rpm. Maximum engines (with 260/278 cams) mechanical effectiveness is between 4500 and 6500 and then it drops. I don't understand you. You need maximum HP and not drivable car?, o you need to have nice smooth torque and very fun to drive car, without power peeks
No I will not, becouse you have understand that boost is not reliable factor to measure and compare between setups that are different in other hardware&software.
My setup was laggy due to several things surely not least becouse of the too big turbine housing, first dynorun with haltech, first dynorun on that turbo and it was stopped early becouse stock coil maxed out at 1.4 bar and the goal was bit over 2bar.
Comparing boost levels versus rpm will not tell ya anything, my 48/56 k26 had full boost around 3800rpm, it died at 5000rmp and was very fun to drive, the pre-holset setup had very large srcapyard garret and it had full boost at 5000rpm and it never died, and it was faster agaist clock but very poor driveablity.
If you want to compare, why dont ya ask "how much torq do you have at 3000rpm?" and compare that, its not good at all but with similar gearboxes you have some idea of the lowlevel performance, but it will not tell you how fast somebody is against clock. And this is other thing you have to deside, want it fast or want it to feel fast yes its easyer to drive when its very low torquemonster but compromise must be done, 500horses@6000rpm 600nm@3000rpm is just not possible, or not at least with hx40, it is 650 hp turbo, don't put in 500hp engine, it just like puttin rs2 turbo on normal 3b engine taking the same 220 horses of it.
And looking +500 horse engine dyno sheets are mostly very good optical illusion, they climp very high at the end of the high rpms, and that gives the illusion that there is nothing in low rews, you have to allways compare numbers to for exaple to your own cars sheet to figure out "ok, he has 50nm less torque at 3000rpm but he has twice the horsepower at 6000rpm" then you must think, "hmm, how much of the lowend goodthing I can sacrifice to get that insane power levels"

At this point you are Absolute right! If you see these dynos mostly you notice that all the power comes at the end witch makes you think that the car is dead lower!
I was simply confused because after the wrong calculation on the HX35 i have found this Compressor map showing that the HX40 is not able to do more than 500!
Of course i know that with the 550+ hp i want it is going to lose some drivability witch i hope to get something back with the bigger engine displacement!
Siply try to collect some experience from others on the HX40!
@AnLe
Do you think the small differences on the 2 Holset pictures i have sendet are important or are thy minor to make a difference??
