I got a new oil cooler. I need to make new hoses and a custom "bracket" to get it right. But I was thinking that is the original place the best place to have the oil cooler? Now it would be easy to move somewhere else if theres a better place...
I mounted mine in place of the aux radiator, made an excepltionally strong bracket from 2mm stainless. Bit over the top but with belts behinde i didnt want any disasters! I then drilled holes to bolt the cooler on. Then welded the bracket to the front cross member(think thats the name). Ive had no problems and can try shaking it but dont have any movement. The stainless is a bitch to drill with a normal drill, so if i was going to do it again i would get the place where i got it from to do that for me.

Aux-radiator is the "front mount" radiator? Maybe thats the new home for the cooler.
That oil cooler duct to airfilter is good, but I don't have that duct. Someone have driven the car to a stone or something. The oil cooler wasn't on it's own place. The original bracket had snapt of from other end of the oilcooler and the cooler itself had turned like "longitunal". It still holds oil "pretty good"
EDIT: oh, someone replied when I was writing. Ok, so if ideal is to have it low as possible then the orignal place is good?
With Greg - other side from original, infront of main radiator or air con radiator (if you have it), as low as you can.
Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...
