Just doesnt make any sense does it??
I have no idea as to how the losses are calculated, i pressume that when letting off the gas, it measures how long it takes to return back to 0 mph. And knowing the frictional losses in its own bearings etc. Did you notice that the brakes are not touched when decellerating?

Im well confused, all I know is that I dont have enough power on paper, but on the road it feels mental, this time of year is a true test to any S2 drivers skill and balls! I might be getting a 2nd hand Racelogic traction control system, it is now getting to the point when its a right handfull! If you know what I mean!

Decided to go the back way to work! Wrong move, tractors have been out spreading **** and the roads are a bit greasy Scared myself a few times. Time for new tyres again!

      Tom,

your right you don't have nearly enough on paper and niether does Greg, mine I know was sick as it maxed out their CO meter and really stunk the place out after its run.
But both your motors feckin flew on the way back to Gregs.

I don't know all a bit strange really, I suppose we will learn more at the next RR meet, it'll be interesting thats for sure.

When we find a safe place to do it we can use vag-com to give us a power/torque curve for all our cars - theres is an excel spreadsheet and instructions on this. It should be pretty accurate (for comparing cars) and will give us our 50-70 times etc. As long as we all do it the same method it will be comparable, and no need to worry about heatsoak.

I think my cats may be breaking up on mine, well thats one theory for the sound im getting when i decelerate sounds like could be something loose in the cats may be. Gonna try get it up on jack tommorow and have a look.

Tom is the traction control worthwhile on a 4x4? wasnt sure if could be fitted very easily or not.

Racelogic stuff is the nuts can be used to dial in 0-30% slip, so you just enter the corner and nail the throttle without having to worry about it drifting to far!!! It uses the signals from the ABS sensors. New cost is about 700 quid. Check the website, dont have it at the mo, its lost in my 'filing' system

                Power at flywheel (measured) 220.1bhp
                Power at wheels: 146.9bhp
Power loss (transmission, tyres etc) 73.2bhp

Max torque: 3696rpm (72.2mph in gear used)

And now the chipped stats - this was the 4th power run in chipped form and the 3rd revision to the code due.

                  Max power speed: 5628rpm (110.7mph)
                  Power at flywheel (corrected) 243.8bhp
                  Power at flywheel (measured) 234.4bhp
                  Power at wheels: 175.9bhp
Power loss (transmission, tyres etc) 58.5bhp

Max torque: 3260rpm (63.9mph in gear used)
                  Max engine torque (corrected) 303.6lb/ft

Max road speed reached in test: 124.1mph
Max engine speed reached in test: 6332rpm
                  Min ambient temp: 31deg c
                  Max ambient temp: 40deg c
                  Baro pressure: 1005mb

The bhp is definately well out due to the mass of heatsoak and the nightmare ambient temperature. In this cold air the car is flying

                  Cheers,

                  David

This is Audi S2 modified by MTM. I think, you'll find some info there.

                      Hi Leo,

                      welcome on board.
                      Nice output, your car!
What hardware did MTM provide for that?

It looks like an RSR conversion done on a 3B.... sounds nice but transmission losses as huge as the engine output really sound too massive for me, this just can't be IMO....

Mihnea, as I can understand it, the dyno was taken in max gear.
Therefore going to max speed possible (~300 ? ).
Max speed is of course the point where power delivery equals drivetrain + tyres absorbtions.

I think that the power losses showed on this dyno are huge. I'll post email to MTM with question how is this possible. I hope they will answer, like last time.

We have in Poland now so-called "boom" on S2's
I still looking for power about 380 HP, and I hope I'll find here hints to finally do that.
