Supercharger Idea

Guys,

I know with big Turbos there is the lag thing going on as the power comes in further up the rev range, Bonus side of that is bigger HP's. :mischeif:

Has anyone ever supercharged the bottom of the range??????

I was told recently of a Ford Focus which has had it done (it had been turbo'd and charged at the same time -why a focus i don't know )

I know this would be a pain as it mean moving bits about the car but having more torque lower down would be great.

Anyone know the logistics of this. I.E. How it would work???????????

im currently doing this to a 1990 mk2 golf gti with a 2.0lt bottom end and 285cam
the cam makes the bottom end useless so im fitting an eaton m45 superchager off a mini cooper (£69 off ebay 500 miles use) to give it a bit more bottom end poke, when the super charger is running out of steam the cam should be kicking in (in theory) found a company that can map it to suit.

any comments/suggestions welcome!!!

theory definately works, the old Lancia delta S4 groupB cars used a supercharger for dealing with mega turbo lag until the turbo kicked in

remember its not a particularly big displacement so will it restrict it noticably? time will tell i supose!

Buy a big enough supercharger for the application instead of being a fleabay bargain hunter.
Or buy a turbo and force it through !
A mester at power engineering has done it on a mk1 XR2.
