    Not Starting HELP PLS!!!!

    Hi Guys And Dolls

I was helping a friend change a coil pack and a coil wire was pinched when putting the cover back on, causing a short and now the car wont start.

Engine swings hard but wont fire. I dont have VAG COM at the moment so couldnt pull codes.

We checked the 3 metal 20A fuses and the big 60A fuse under the steering column. They look fine.

Is there another fuse(hopefully) that I need to check?
Or could the short to earth cause the POS to blow and would this stop the car from starting?

there should be some fuses in fuse box that have small plasitc cover over two of them that have MOTOR written on them. Check those, as they should provide power to coil packs and could get blown if you had pinched wire. Worth looking.

There's other fuses used as well - look at S2 Central for Motronic fuse info. I can't remember if the POS amps use one of the two motor fuses, but I suspect not...

Here you go - Fuse 32 - NOT the motor fuses. Agrees with schematic info...

                  Thanks again Paul

Got some1 to change S32 fuse and Voila, it started. thankfully the coils are actually fused as the short would have definitely damaged the PoS.
The car still has a miss the 2nd coil may be faulty as well.

                  Cheers

check the wiring on your coils, I had to replace mine last year because they had deteriorated.

                      Hi

I found the POS faulty, followed the procedure found on the forum to change the channel to a spare channel on the POS and it solved the miss.

Thanks again for all the help.
