Loss of power under hard acceleration

Just wondering if anyone here can shed light on the subject.

    I recently changed oil to a 15w40...

Whilst accelerating hard in 3rd gear, i suddenly lost all acceleration... I immediately pushed in the clutch and took her out of gear. Ever since then, it has all been fine.

Any ideas what has caused this? I thought that it may have been a safety cut due to high oil pressure?

    Thanks folks,

I can't imagine it was caused by oil. Did you disturb something whilst changing the oil? If it has gone away, I would wipe it from your memory banks as a temporary glitch....

      Cheers,

      Steve.

ok, Thanks folks. I thought that perhaps since I was accelerating hard the pressure might have reached a peak...? no?

I'm quite happy to discount it as a glitch if that's what you reckon though

        Thanks,

It was the closest to the recommended 15w50 that was in the shop. Bad reason I know, but I fugured it would do the job.

            Why?
