    What petrol? unleaded or leaded

hi all just brought an Audi S2

I forgot to ask the previous owner what type of petrol I should use.

The year of the car is 1991, Should it be unleaded or leaded

    Thanks

    Hi Ian,

Unleaded I assume, preferably 97 or 98RON. It should tell you on the inside of your petrol cap flap. If you've got a Tesco nearby check and see if it stocks 99RON!

if memory serves me correctly, VAG have been using hardened valve seats on all their engines since the 70's ('76?). I seem to remember even MKI golfs can run on unleaded!

If it's still got the Catalysts fitted then use nothing but Unleaded fuel, otherwise they will be ruined (though a good excuse to fit cat by-pass pipes on it I suppose!).

It should run at its optimum on Superunleaded fuel too.
