Tom also went back to the stock inlet cam, and reported less lag and more midrange torque, even without a remap AFAIK.

Intersting... supposed it would be too freaky for both 7A cams to be a massive benefit for an engine they weren't designed for. Though I do wonder if exotic adjustable timing gear could be used to try the 7A cams to better effect... You would think the longer duration would be beneficial.

Anybody got results to compare stock cams with RS2 items ?

From memory the RS2 inlet has longer duration than 3B/ABY/AAN but not as long as 7A. It seems to work plenty well in remapped RS2 applications with an ability to create rodbending torque (mostly due to more air being pushed in by the RS2 turbo of course) but I've never heard the RS2 cam being described as a limitation.

Anybody tried other camshafts from Schrick or other specialists ?

I'm going to install both NM cams (Audi 2.0 20V) .... will post my opinion later ... they're hard to find but they seem to be the most comparable to rs2 cams.

I'm pretty sure the RS2 inlet cam is no different than the stock AAN, ABY, or 3B cam. I have the 7A exhaust cam and planned to install the 7A intake cam but after reading this thread am not sure. Javad's 599whp 20vt is using both 7A cams and he claims the 7A inlet cam gave him big power increases up top but since his full boost doesn't come in untill 5500+rpms, his up top and my up top may be quite different.

I have not been able to find any info on the lift of the ADU inlet cam but it opens 10 degrees later than the ABY / AAN cam (ADU 13 ATDC, ABY 3 ATDC) - they all have the same duration of 202 degrees.

I currently have a set of ABY, ADU and 7A cams. From what I have read here, i should only use the 7A exhaust cam. My problem is whether I should use the ABY or ADU inlet cam with that. Has anybody used a ADU inlet with a 7A exhaust? Any advice which would work better with the 7A exhaust cam?

BTW, I am upgrading to a Garrett GT3076R, a tubular EM and a 034 Motorsport Inlet Manifold. I want to get about 500hp with as little lag as possible.

I have both 7A cams in and can vouch that hey are definatley top end players, but it depends on how you want to drive I will shortly be looking to get my hands on a 3B or alike inlet cam to get more midrage back.... Ho hum.

ADU inlet cam is the same as in the rest 20vt's. The timing difference has been done by different alignment of the chain sporcket on the ADU exhaust cam!
