I get asked many questions about oil so I thought a thread here for all oil related questions would be a good idea and build into a FAQ or reference point for others.

So, put your oil questions here but please give the following information if you would like a recommendation:

Engine size/type

Any mods

Type of use (road/track)

Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used)

What do you want a recommendation for? Engine, Gearbox etc?

Recommendation for eingine oil type and service interval for summer and Winter use (-25 C)

Audi RS2 -95, 5cyl 20vt, 460Hp
Use mainly road, occasional track day driving

Been using Mobil1 5W-50 (winter) and Liqui Moly 10W-60 or Castrol TWS (summer)

Hi,

I would stick with the 5w-50 Mobil for all year round use, you dont need a SAE60 even in the summer, its just too thick.

According to my book you will need a VW503.00 spec oil for variable servicing.

The Fuchs Titan Supersyn SL LL 0w-30 is ideal.
