What is best?What is needed?

Hello evreyone,
a friend of mine is thinking of having an S2 turned into an RS2 in mechanical and powerwise aspect.
He would like to know which is best?
Get the S2 and put in an ADU + CRB engine and gear
OR
buy the S2 with the ABY engine and replace parts in order to turn it into an RS2?

Which is best moneywise?
Also if the second option is concidered,then what parts need to be replaced to reach the 315hp mark?

Start with the ABY as it already has the 6 speed.
To uprate the hp to RS2 spec, you will need
RS2 turbo
RS2 exhaust manifold
RS2 injectors
RS2 intercooler
and a remap to the ecu.
With these parts you will actually end up with slightly more than the 315bhp of the RS2.
Remember that a worn engine will not benefit from a hp increase make sure the engine is in perfect condition, it would be wise to rebuild it and fit an uprated clutch.
But before increasing the hp makes sure the brakes are suitably modified to allow the car to stop properly.

Add at least a better catback exhaust, maybe better DP, and a better fuel pump onto that list as well.

an S2 engine with 170.000Kms will surelly need a rebuilt,so this also has to be taken into account.

Eh?? 170.000Kms? Thats about 110k miles, just run in! That will handle tuned RS2 spec with ease IMO

one other thing i was thinking of is,do the S2 and RS2 use the same drive tarrain ?I mean front and rear bushes,joints should also be replaced or could they handle the power as well?

With age and mileage things wear, potentially bushes and springs/dampers could be worn. Good time to upgrade.

as far as I know I've not got the rs2 intercooler/exhaust/injectors, though I'm still trying to piece together the exact 'nothelle' modifications so I could be wrong..
