Intake air temp sender fault?? Do i just replace?

OK. So me and a mate hooked up Vagcom to my 3b the other day as part of a troubleshooting session...

There were the fault codes that showed up..

Does anyone know much about Intake Air temp sensor(s)....
Do I just need to replace it or is there somehting else that could be causing this fault?? (a short by the look of it)

I'm told the engine speed sensor will always show as the engine is not running??? is that correct?

    TIA

G28 is indeed normal when the engine running.
I had an intermittent fault with my G42. It turned out to be a loose connection on the sensor itself.

      Thanks for that mate.
I will take it off on the weekend and see if I can find anything amiss..

No need to remove it. Just carefully put back the boot on the connector, check the two connections, and test it.

Maintaining an ambient temperature of 20°C may be a problem here this time of year, but you should get the idea.

          Great.
Thanks. I will try that tomorrow. Like you say I should get near that reading even if ambient is out!
