I'm using the precision 850hp intercooler. I think its too big for the s2 chassis. This Precision 750 unit is very good quality, but cost more then the unit you linked to:
One problem with those intercoolers - you cannot predict quality of those. They look exactly the same, even brand names stamped the same, however core may be different. Some of them are amazingly good, others are real POS.
Like it was said somewhere why to put 100$ work piece of junk in front of 1000$ worth engine ? Wanna risk ?
For application like yours I would go and buy from trusted and tested source (even on e-bay). I'm sure guys from MRC are measuring pressure drop, IC outlet temps when tuning. They sould see dozens of those things. Maybe they can help selecting right source of those IC.

Where you get that info? AFAIK the sourced intercoolers used here in the U.K theres been no issues.

Info from various forums and browsing e-bay. I've heard good responses about XSPOWER 24x12x3 intercoolers, however when browsing pictures (year or two ago), I've noticed, that cores are differet!. I mean there are 10 guys selling on e-bay same looking IC, and you can find 5 different core designs in the photos ... Core design means a lot when going on the edge of turbo capabilites. Not shure which is the best, but differences frighten me .

You do make a good point actually here... I wouldn't be keen about buying an intercooler off eBay for exactly this reason. There's too many copycats and its hard to see exactly *who* is building the good ones.
By good I mean those that exhibit the lowest pressure drop (best flow characteristics) and provide the best temperature reduction (in the air flowing thru it under high boost).
Inefficient intercoolers won't reduce air temperatures as much as the better made ones. Higher air temp means lower air mass (for the same pressure & volume) and therefore less power. Also means reduced knock resilience on the same fuel at the same ignition timing...
The two types are 'bar and plate' and 'tube and fin', bar and plate are said to be better and are usually the more expensive ones, mines tube and fin and have had no problems, works really well.
The mechanic working on my car from Ashford Motorsports has asked me to try and find an original Cosworth RS500 IC. He has worked on many Ford cars and finds that this Behr made IC is much more effecient than most others out there, including Pace and even Radtec! THerefore if I could get my hands on one, he will make it fit.
This just supports what is being said in posts above, but I thought as there have been no issues whith the ones used by Mark, Tom, Doug and I think Jeffer, I could at least show H a link to see what he thinks of them.
Cheers
Chris
