    Radiator water Pink-Green

    Hello Friends
some difference between the water of pink color and the water of green color for the radiator exists:
It is that recently I had to change a piece of plastic of the connections of the heating and had to replace water of green colour when previously took water of pink color.
    Thanks

The pink colour was probably the Audi G12 or G12 +, G12 doesn't mix very well with other coolants, G12+ does, might be worth draining the coolant and refilling with the G12+

Do not mix. You will get preciptation in the coolant. BTDT. Get it properly flushed and filled with the newer pink coolant.

Not entirely true G12+ mixes with either G11 (green/blue) or the G12

For peace of mind flush the system and put G12+ (pink) in it.

It goes a horrible brown rusty lumpy custardy colour (With the lumps). Well thats what happened to Alastairs car (which I now have) when Audi themselves mixed G11 and G12 together. Alastair had it flushed, and I've flushed it a further 3 times and there's still traces of it in the water.
G12+ pretty much mixes with anything, or so I'm lead to believe.

Correct on G12+ and your lumpy experience is exactly what happens, i think this most likely why audi changed it.

None but I did not like the idea of 'solids' in the system and even less that main stealer did the work !!

Well that explains why I've developed a leak in my system too.

VW been giving me pink G12+ when I needed blue and now its brown with a leak.

                      F**kers.

                      Actually, on re-checking, I think maybe I don't have a leak....

Rather a blockage is pressurising the system more so than usual, reducing the level of the fluid in the reservoir, which then kicks off the low-level warning, but when you shut down the car and release the pressure in the reservoir, the system coolant level returns to where it was?

                      Sound plausible?

Blockage more likely than leak with lumpy bits. But that is an educated guess !
