    boost/vaccum question!

    Hello

as you may have read,i recently bought the boost guage flex had in his car. This one indicating in bar starts from -0.5bar(vaccum) and goes all up to 2.5bar(boost).

My autometer gauge i use now has numbering that go much less than 0.5 in vaccum.(goes up to -30psi which is -2bar).Now that i fitted the new turbo and use the samco hoses,i get readings of -20psi when i roll the car without pressing the gas, which means i have indications of up to -1.5bar.

Since i want to fit the new gauge from flexx, which only shows -0.5bar of vaccum,is there going to be any problems with that?Is there any risc of damaging the boost gauge? If not since i wont be able to see the true depths of vaccum is that bad for noticing potential losses in air flow?( i know that before the changes the vaccum indicator only went as far as -10psi which is -0.5bar roughly.

Would you make this change of bouust gauge if you knew that for the better looks, you would lose a potential vital information of the vaccum/boost indications?

    thanks

Only 1 bar of vacuum is possible.

I think in the US of A they sometimes measure in inches Hg (Mercury), and that 30 inches of Hg is approx. 1Bar. Found something here:
Online converter for units of stress and pressure. Bar, pascal, PSI, or inch of mercury? Instantly convert any unit to all others.

There's quite a lot of different units for measuring pressure.

ohh i see.yes you are right...i think it is in mmHG so it must be 1bar.
well i noticed that the boostgauge i bought that has the bar figures only, has the ability to go below .5 bar it just doesnt have the number indication.so i guess it is nothing to worry about
          cheers
