I do not know if this a good or a bad idea so someone agree or tell me I'm talking a complete load of bolx. Would carbon fibre pipes be suitable instead of the stainless ones that people seem to use. I don't know the heat properties of c/fibre as opposed to stainless.
They always say on training courses there are no stupid questions, but I sure nobody agrees with that.

Wrap all the pipes in heat resistant bandage. If the wrap stops heat getting out from the exhaust manifolds and downpipes it will and does stop heat getting in to any of the air intake pipes. Try www.cooltek.co.uk/exhaust_heat_wrap.htm Less than £2 per m for 2inch wide bandage.
