Hi again, Looking for some advice as what to do with my aux.. radiator as it's leaking slightly. Looked at the last service (Audi) and it was an advisory repair , but at £210 plus vat and fitting after that i'm open to suggestions. I have read on here that you can bypass or remove the aux rad ? is this correct if so how do i do that.
Two simple bungs cure that. Someone will post a link to a thread in a minute - or at least quicker than I can find it
The car, whilst moving, actually runs marginally cooler. Almsot certainly due to the air gettin to the main rad easier once the aux rad is out of the way. Sitting in traffic the fan cuts in the same temperature and the gauge stays pretty much as it was.
Thanx jubjub , i'll have a look this weekend and see what i can do.
I wasn't sure if it was a temporary repair or if there were any drawbacks in removing the rad.
just removed mine at the last garage meet in Feb - runs fine and not problems so far. if you can get a 7a hose which runs from the base of the main rad to the collector into the block, then just buy a radiator bung and use a jub clip to secure - job done!
