    Engine weight

    Hi, just put my 3B on my engine stand complete with all the gubbins still attached, does anyone have an idea how much it weighs? I am currently very paranoid that i will find my block embedded in the floor along with my broken stand.

    It will be fine, its less than 250lbs, most stands will do 250kg. I found these a while back, should give you an idea. You can lift each part on its own, i think complete bottom end would be too much for most people. (it is for me anyway)

    * AAN Engine code 5 cylinder Engine Block with Pistons, rods, crankshaft, Oil pump assembly, oil pickup and oil pan, but without the following: oil filter housing, crank damper pulley and flywheel. 192 lbs
    * Bare engine block without the following: No crankshaft, rods, pistons, oil pump or rear seal flange 118 lbs
    * Crankshaft 44 lbs
    * 5 pistons with 5 rods ~13 lbs
    * Oil Pump assembly and rear seal flange 5 lbs
    * Oil Pan, pickup and windage tray 12 lbs
    * Front Crank damper pulley 11 lbs
    * Dual mass Flywheel 27 lbs
    * Complete Cylinder head with valves, 2 camshafts, intake manifold, fuel injectors, exhaust manifold 100 lbs
    * Turbocharger 15 lbs
    * Exhaust Downpipe 14.5 lbs
    * A/C Compressor 17.5 lbs
    * Alternator 16 lbs
    * Turbocharger crossover pipe 4 lbs
    * Intercooler with mounting brackets 11.5 lbs
    * 01E 5 speed Transmission with shift linkage and Procon Ten cable guide 159 lbs
    * Rear Differential with differential lock 73 lbs
