    Re-wiring the POS

Ok, so i've tried to rewire the POS plugs...

    But it's IMPOSSIBLE!

The metal crimp just doesn't want to come out of the plastic housing.
It's not like an ordinary MOLEX connector where you can just push down the metal catch to unclip it, there's something else inside still holding on.

    Can anyone help?
Is there a nack to unclipping these things, or do I just need to use brute force?

There is a special tool that enables you to get these terminals out. Just do a search on the net

Ok, there seems to be loads of different types, ranging from £20 to £75!
I don't even know what type I need... and it's not like I can even take the connector into the shop to let them see.

Oh well. Looks like i might have to give up on the rewire.

I used one or two very small jewelers screwdrivers (or a small paperclip) to release the terminals. You slip the screwdrivers/paperclip between the side of the metal terminal and the plastic housing (can't remember if you have to do both sides or if just one side does the trick) which flattens a "barb" on the terminal and allows you to gently pull it out. You just have to indentify which side of the terminal the barb is on, the picture below should help.

Once you have done one the rest will be easy.

Thanks very much Angus! it's really handy to see the terminal just on it's own.

              Thanks!!

No, the two little sticky out things level with the end of the paperclip you can see in the picture are the barbs I am talking about.

I understand Angus, But I think that when this terminal is in the holder/plug, the barbs are situated top and bottom, not left and right...

                          Yey!!

                          Managed to fix my missfire.

I moved the middle terminal of the Coil-side plug to the outside socket, and moved the middle of the 3 terminals (green wire) on the ECU-side plug to the outside.
                          (cylinder 5 had the missfire)
I have pictures if anyone wants to see. just PM me.

So, now i've bought a working POS, and don't need it... so if anyone's interested, PM me.

                          Thanks for your help folks.
