hi folks i think i found the source of the dreaded water logged driver side passenger footwell. The clutch cable gromet has been missing for almost a year now. Can someone let me know the part number of this and where i can source one from and cost please. This has been driving me mad for the longest time now.
Do you mean the bonnet cable, cause I have the same problem as well, I not to sure if actually comes with a gromet, you might have to seal it with something else.
Your best bet would probably be to go to the scrap yard and take one of other car. If there is a gromet you could take it off of a audi coupe, 90, 100, or 80. As im sure the mechanism is exactly the same.
Putting the gromet in will be a pain because it will mean you will need to disconnect the bonnet cable and thread it through, thats why it might be easy just to use some kind of putty to bung it up.
the gromet had just fallen through the hole and bonnet cable still threaded through it. i am so glad, the leaks was really bothering me to the point of....well we won't say. polished her up after 6 mtonths off road, and i must say i have fallen back in love with her.. next is the speedo problem i hear it could be speed sensor wether loose connection or new item needed.
