The 06A 115 561 B part number isn't the real S2 filter part number (well unless you have a 96 model), but is what Marty at vagparts will give you as it's exactly the same. More likely to be in stock at your dealers too. I bought a pack of four off him just before xmas for around £20
why even think about halfords for gods sake, buy the right filter, and yes i damn sure audi have them on shelf, it's a common filter used on other newer cars. i work in a VW van dealer and they have the right filter on the shelf for my S6 so i don' t think you will have a problem, and yes they do have a valve inside, and yes they filter better than fram or halfords or unifart.
You can buy the filter cheaper at GSF, it's OEM made by Mann, only difference between the one from Audi is the one from Audi has four rings symbol on it.
p.s Mann make the oil filters for Audi the same as Behr make the rads of Audi.
Audi dont make alot of the compenents on the S2 sometimes it cheaper at places liek GSF and Eurocarparts who sell the direct manufacturing part.

do stealers usually have them in stock? also anyone got a part number as u no what stealers are like with an S2. Also can someone tell me how to do an oil change its my first time Will 5l be enough?
The stealers should have them in stock. The filter is common to many models.
It's the same filter used on the 1.8T for example. Quite handy for me. I've got a box load here, along with sump plugs and sealing rings.
btw, I still wouldn't use GSF.
The Chinese/Turkish/why seem to be very good at producing 'Genuine' parts.
I was just on my way out to the motor factors this morning when I thought that I would just log on whilst I had my cup of tea and there to my suprise was a thread on Oil Filters. Well guess what I was on my way to buy. After taking the advice of visiting the Stealers I popped into my local one. For just under £6 I got a filter and the copper washer. BARGIN! (IMO)
Cheers lads.
Now all I need is some oil. I off to check the threads for suggestions....

LOL thats only half the stock, when you have a man on the inside you always get the german stock
A stupid qiestion i know but can u get an oil filter for the s2 from somewhere like halfords? If so what one do i get? Also how much oil would i need? I got 5l of synta gold sitting in my garage will that be enough? Cheers
stevie.i've just put synta gold in (well about a month ago) after using millers 10/60 and it now gives a puff of smoke on start up.i'll have to see if it goes through much more oil.rock oil 10/60 lasted me about 3000 miles without top up.no problems with that.gonna swap back unless oilman (or anyone else who understands the spec sheet)thinks this other stuff i've got is any good.i'll try post it tommorow.and if it is any good and we can get it straight from the manafacturer it should be pretty cheap.
Oilman recommends a full synthetic very high quality 10W50 for our cars. I have been running Castrol RS 10w60 which oilman is saying is too thick and not near good enough quality. I have 10 litres of Silkolene Pro -S 10w50 in my garage waiting to go in the S2....
Cheers,
Steve
