MAF p/n and Fuel consumption query

After recent posts on this topic, was thinking of changing the MAF on my RS2, especially after reading about alg picking one up for £150-ish

Found that my MAF has a Porsche part number, 951.XXX.XXX - does this mean its been changed at some point? No reference to this in my bills back to 1999.

Also, fuel tank running low yesterday, economy-meter showing 13.5 mpg during the journey. I stop at BP, stick 20 squids of Ultimate in (now just over 2/3 full), restart the car and its instantly showing 19.8 mpg, without even moving! Whats that about??

Journey home averages between 18 and 21 mpg, whereas prior to fill up, it was showing now more than 14 tops?? Previously on Optimax.

    Anyone else experience this?

dont know if anyone else has noticed this but if you sit with the engine off and ignition on the mpg changes, once went from 20mpg down to 19 before i set off again

if you change it to average it should remain steady. I thin you have it on the instantaneous mpg which changes with load immediately
